Make Your Own DIVERGENT T-shirt! (Full Instructions + Stencils)

It's time to get crafty Divergent fans! I have wanted a Divergent related t-shirt, have you? I started searching for instructions and found that making a shirt isn't that hard or expensive to make. All the items you need can be found at craft stores like Michaels and a grocery store or everything at a Super Wal-Mart.

Here is what you need:

A t-shirt. Any color will do, but we chose navy blue.
Freezer paper.
Printer.
Scissors or a exacto knife.
Iron.
Fabric paint. You can mix colors for a custom color.
Foam paint brush.

Now that you have gathered all of these items, pick a design and drag it to your desktop and print it out.

Now for the instructions:

Wash and dry your shirt without and fabric softeners.
Print out your design.
Put a piece of freezer paper gloss side down on the printout.
Trace the design onto the freezer paper with a pencil.
Use scissors or exacto knife to cut out the design. Make sure you leave edges in-tact so it will be a good stencil.
Gloss side down, iron the freezer paper to your shirt. Make sure the edges are ironed well so your paint has clean lines.
Insert a piece of cardboard between the t-shirt layers so the fabric paint won't bleed through your shirt.
We mixed blue and white to get a light blue paint. Any colors can be combined for custom colors. Blot paint opposed to brushing. Don't put it on too thick.
Let it sit to dry. I like to pull of the freezer paper while the paint is still tacking because if it dries completely you run the risk of peeling off extra chunks but at the same time pulling it off while it's wet can be tricky with little pieces and since you're more likely to smudge the image with your hand or the paper as your removing it.

Then voila you are finished!!
