Shailene Woodley gets ready to jump trains in April, but is she ready?
According to MTV, Shailene Woodley isn't practicing jumping onto trains just yet. She's getting mentally prepared for the role of Tris that is slated to start pre-production sometime in March and filming to begin on location in Chicago in April.
Shailene says, "I think that a big thing is just pretending that I live in that world. It's a world that's so different from today, but not really," she said. "Thinking of [Divergent's] dystopian world and living in different factions and not being allowed to express your multiple personalities. Being constricted to one thing is going to be the challenge."
I'm not worried about her mentally preparing, it seems this girl is an acting prodigy. In case you didn't know, Shailene isn't new to acting. She started acting class at the age of 5 and has even had some parts on The O.C. and CSI: NY. The Descendants was her first film and she received rave reviews for that performance. Shailene has just recently received more praise from The Spectacular Now that screened at Sundance Film Festival. See those reviews here. She continues to stay humble about her acting abilities, “I’m not a good actor, just a professional listener,” she says. “You don’t have to cry because the script says so; you’ll cry if you believe it.”
The more I get to know about Shailene, the more excited I am that she will be the actress portraying Beatrice Prior, how about you Divergent fans? Neil Burger really seems to be making some great decisions since becoming Divergent's director. Let's keep our fingers crossed that Kate Winslet joins the cast as we previously reported here.
